Updates & Icons
Fanlistings: I have adopted the Lulu (Final Fantasy X) fanlisting from dark-nation.com. As Lulu has very few official images, it features fanart by a doujinshi artist. I was very nervous emailing the artist to ask to use the picture, especially since he's Japanese and I wasn't sure how well we could communicate. However, he understood and was very kind about it! People should definitely contact artists more without concern. The worst they can do is say no.

Linking: Thanks to amassment's Link Drive and Banner Trade activities, I have a new link exchanges for my shrines, as well as a bunch of shiny new linking buttons. I also finally got around to affiliating with akushiro's Cherudim.org. ♥

Marathon: Speaking of amassment, I am co-organizing a General Series Fansite Marathon! It's going to be good. Shrine fansites are so personally fulfilling, but I always need a push to get started on one. This marathon will give the motivation I needed. It's going to be a Gundam-related fansite. I think the hardest part will be making a layout, as I can't find many images from that series that suit my design style. Since I'm pretty busy academically this semester, I'm a little concerned about all my offline and online projects, but I think the full load will help me make the most of every day. :)

Icons: I have become very interested in an Asian pop group called Rainbow. It's a kpop girl group that recently impressed me with their Japanese debut. They spoke Japanese well and seem to fit in with the culture there. Japan is a huge music market, and many kpop companies push their artists to debut there quickly in order to get their slice of the profit. However, many of these crossover debuts are half-assed. They barely learn the language, about their audience, or spend much time there. It's borders on disrespectful and the songs end up sounding ridiculous to people who understand it. Rainbow looks promising so far, and I was inspired to make some icons.

Thanks! I was really hoping for Parasite Eve, as that's been on my wishlist since the beginning. But Lulu was a welcome surprise too!

Thanks! Yay, and I enjoy seeing new shrines from you, especially FL conversions! Can we fast forward to January to see the results already? lol.

Congrats for adopting Lulu, you've done a great job with her fanlisting! And you are right about contacting artists…if less people stole their works I think they would be more willing to let people re-use them!

The General Series marathon is very tempting. I'm grateful to have discovered Amassment around the time I began to make shrines again because it pushed me to shrine subjects that, had it been for me, I would have never chosen (TV characters, series…).

I already picked a general series with the latest one-page shrine round, but I may have found a certain game for which I would like to spread the love so…I may join this marathon ;)

Oh, by the way…I didn't knew you were a Parasite Eve fan! (I own the series fanlisting :))

I'm a member of your PE fanlisting! ^^ PE1 was such a great game. I'm not good with horror-type games, yet I loved PE1. It had the perfect mix of everything. Good story, innovative gameplay, and thrilling suspense without being excessively gory. Awesome. I was so happy when they re-released the game on PSN in North America.

I like that about Amassment too - it urges me to try out different types of websites, and makes me take notice of sites that we need more of. It's also rather fun because trying out a different subject forces me to think of different ways to present content.

Having you in the marathon would be great! =D

Same thing here! I normally do not like horror games or films, but I've always enjoyed Parasite Eve. I'm still waiting to get hold of the Third Birthday. Since I've read some pretty negative reviews about it, I'd like to play it myself and see if it is as bad as they say.

I try to join Amassment's marathons as much as possible for the same reasons you pointed out! I'm currently working on a shrine I began last Autumn and if this project reaches a decent level of completion I think I will join ;)
